Privacy Policy

Kimde? · Last updated: 20 September 2026

Kimde? (“the app”, “we”) is a local-first app that helps you keep track of things you lend to other people and borrow from them. This policy explains what data the app processes and how your privacy is protected.

In short: no account, no login. Your item names, people names, notes and photos stay on your device; we run no server that could read them. The app shows ads so it can stay free; the ad provider may process device and usage data to serve and measure those ads.

No account

You do not need to register or sign in to use the app. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number.

Data that stays on your device

The following is stored only in the app’s private database on your device and is never sent to us:

Deleting the app removes this data from your device; we keep no copy. You can also erase it inside the app: Settings → Delete all data.

The app has no cloud backup and no cross-device sync. That is a consequence of your data never leaving the device — but it also means that if you lose your device or delete the app, your records go with it.

Advertising

The app shows banner ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure those ads, Google may process data such as your device advertising identifier, approximate (country-level, IP-based) location, device information and ad interactions. That processing is governed by Google’s own terms:

The items and people you record are never sent to the ad network. The app passes no targeting data to the ad SDK.

Users in the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown Google’s consent screen (UMP) before the first ad request. You can change your choice later under Settings → Ad preferences. Without consent, non-personalised ads are shown.

The ad SDK is not initialised until you have saved your first item, so opening the app for the first time makes no ad request at all.

Permissions the app may ask for

The app never asks for location, contacts, microphone or camera access.

Data we collect

We (the developer) do not collect, store or receive your personal data or the content of your records. The app’s own usage counters stay on the device and are never transmitted. The only third-party processing is done by the advertising provider described above.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Ad content is restricted to a general audience rating inside the app.

Your rights

Because your data is on your device, you can exercise deletion directly: Settings → Delete all data in the app, or uninstall it. You can withdraw your advertising consent at any time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be reflected on this page with a new “last updated” date.
